Back in the summer, rising superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia admitted that he had held talks with Leeds, while also making a claim about Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp.
The Georgia international – who eventually left Dinamo Batumi for Napoli in a €10m (£9m) deal – revealed that he would love to play for the German, who is under contract at Anfield until July 2026.
If Erling Haaland didn’t exist, Kvaratskhelia would arguably be the standout player in Europe this season – now, Liverpool need to act on his desire to play for Klopp before anyone else turns his head.
Liverpool must sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
It isn’t often that a player openly admits he would like to play for a certain manager, which is why Liverpool must take advantage of this situation.
Speaking to Sport All, Kvaratskhelia said: “There were negotiations with Leeds, they may continue. The most interesting thing will be working with Jürgen Klopp.”

Since those comments, the Napoli No.77 has scored seven goals in 14 appearances so far this season, while also providing eight assists.
One of those assists came against Liverpool in that 4-1 rout at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium back in September, so Klopp and the Liverpool squad – specifically the backline – will know all about Kvaratskhelia.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia can replace Sadio Mane at Liverpool
In our view, Darwin Nunez was not an appropriate replacement for Sadio Mane given the difference in pace.
In addition to Luis Diaz, Klopp needs more speed in his attack to compliment Mohamed Salah, who we believe has somewhat suffered as a result of Mane not being on the other flank to occupy defenders and free up space.
In Kvaratskhelia, Klopp would get himself a dangerous outlet, one who loves to knock the ball beyond defenders and surge into space, creating opportunities for teammates to take advantage.
If Liverpool do not even bid for the 21-year-old sensation in 2023 after his comments, it would be baffling.
