Speaking to Tottenham’s official website, Eric Dier has names consistency as the one attribute that stands out about Harry Kane after the striker hit his 200th goal for the club.

Kane is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the world, and while there are a lot of ingredients that make him so brilliant, Dier believes that it is his ability to be consistent that stands out above all else.

“It’s a fantastic achievement and, to me, what stands out is his consistency, not only in the amount of goals he’s scored, but in his performances, too. I’m sure he’ll now be focussed on getting 200 more!” Dier said.

“His qualities as well, for me, he’s an all-round striker, his hold up play is fantastic, he can finish with both feet, his head, brings other players into the game as well, he has all of the qualities which make him an all-round striker and that’s why he’s so good.

“But it’s the consistency in which he shows those qualities that makes him so good, and the work he puts in. He’s very focussed and extremely driven to always be successful.”

Consistency has always been the attribute that separates a good striker and a great striker.

Countless strikers have put in 20-goal seasons in the Premier League, but Kane has done that year in year out for over half a decade by this point, and the fact that he has 200 Spurs goals by the age of 27 shows just how consistent he has been throughout his career.

Whether it’s in a north London derby or a meaningless Europa League group fixture against Ludogorets, Kane always plays with that same intensity, and that makes him such a prolific scorer.

Dier is lucky to be able to call Kane a teammate, and if he continues like this, it won’t be long until we’re talking about his 300th Tottenham goal.
