Stan Kroenke has a lot of making up to do with Arsenal fans – and he knows it.
There’s been two protests against Kroenke’s ownership of Arsenal outside the Emirates Stadium over the past couple of weeks.
And the American businessman knows that the only thing he can do to make himself more unpopular is reveal that he’s actually a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan.
But if rumours are believed, the billionaire has an exciting plan to get Arsenal supporters back onside.
According to The Sun, Kroenke will sanction potentially three big signings for head coach Mikel Arteta during the summer transfer window.
And although there’s a lot of fans of the North London club who’ll argue that it isn’t enough, it’ll be a start.
Remember, Arsenal won’t have Champions League revenue anytime soon and they posted losses of almost £50 million as recently as March.
Financially, it’s all a little bit gloomy at the Gunners right now but if Kroenke finances three big-money additions then it’ll be a very decent indication that a rebuild is underway.
In an ideal world, Kroenke would give Arteta 10 big-money signings, but it isn’t realistic.
Arsenal are a million miles away from the top four and it’ll be a gradual process to get back to into Europe’s elite competition.
It isn’t going to happen overnight, but deals for three big players would appease some fans and have them looking forward to next season.
Because at the moment, with Arteta’s side 10th in the Premier League, there’s not much to look forward to.
