Everton should sign Burnley’s Michael Keane in the summer transfer window, suggests Stan Collymore.

Burnley defender Michael Keane is having a wonderful season and has been one of the best players in his position in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old’s current contract with Burnley runs until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but it seems like he could leave Turf Moor in the summer transfer window.

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Liverpool are interested in securing the services of the England international in the summer.

Manchester United are also interested in re-signing the defender they let go in 2015, according to ESPN.

With so many top clubs (reportedly) interested in Keane, it does not look likely that Burnley will be able to keep hold of him next season.

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore believes that Everton should make a move for Keane in the summer.

“Michael Keane will probably end up at a top-four club this summer after it was confirmed he will leave Burnley,” Collymore wrote in The Sunday People (print edition, page 52, April 23, 2017). “But I would love to see him move to Everton and freshen up boss Ronald Koeman’s defensive pool.

“He would be a good, steading Eddie defender for any of the big clubs, but the Toffees should put some money down and build their club around him. It would be great for them and for England in a World Cup season, too.”

Everton are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 58 points from 34 matches, while Burnley are currently 16th in the standings with 36 points from 34 games.
