Wolverhampton Wanderers are seventh in the Premier League table while the Cottagers have been relegated back to the Championship.

Premier League legend Stan Collymore has commented on the contrasting fortunes experienced by Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham this season, giving his theory as to why there is such a discrepancy when they were “impossible to separate” attack-wise last term.
Wolves were promoted as Championship champions in 2017-18, while the Cottagers went on a superb run in the latter stages of the season before successfully navigating the playoffs, including a final victory over Collymore’s beloved Aston Villa at Wembley Stadium.
This season, however, the difference between the two promoted sides has been stark, with Wanderers sitting seventh in the league and in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, having beaten Manchester United in both competitions in the last few weeks as well as Liverpool in the third round of the cup.
Fulham, meanwhile, have been poor this term and their relegation was confirmed on Tuesday night following a 4-1 hammering away at Watford, which has left them unable to escape the bottom three and boasting a worrying tally of 76 goals shipped in just 33 league fixtures.
Collymore spoke about the two sides on his Twitter channel:
A number of fans and neutrals had their say in response:
Up next for Wolves is their FA Cup semi-final against Watford this Sunday before returning to league action at Southampton on Saturday 13 April, while Fulham host Everton on that same Saturday.
