Former Nottingham Forest striker and broadcaster Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to show his concern at the direction his former club is currently heading.

Nottingham Forest owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi made his feelings clear toward some Forest fans on Twitter last night.

The Forest supremo sent these Twitter posts, clearly directed at the Forest supporters:

Of course Al-Hasawi is perfectly entitled to defend himself against any overtly offensive comments from fans.

But Collymore, who spent two successful seasons at the City Ground in the 90s, had this message on his Twitter account last night:

The 45-year-old is certainly echoing the thoughts of many who are growing increasingly concerned at the state of affairs at Nottingham Forest under Al-Hasawi’s reign.

He has tried to sell the club, but a takeover from Greek tycoon Evangelos Marinakis appears to have slowed to a crawl – with UEFA investigating the potential buyer over potential match-fixing.

His sale of Oliver Burke to RB Leipzig, and the manner in which they let the Scottish winger go, also bore the wrath of the Forest faithful.

Results on the pitch are not helping the current mood at the City Ground and hopefully things will change soon.
