Stan Collymore says Jadon Sancho has ‘almost no chance’ of returning to fight for his place at Manchester United in the near future.
HITC Football have been told that Jadon Sancho is closing in on a loan move to Borussia Dortmund after a falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.
Whilst a move to Germany is back on the cards for the 23-year-old, Stan Collymore added that it ‘wouldn’t be a surprise’ if he decides to go to Saudi Arabia instead, as he told Caught Offside.
If that happens, then it will clearly be money-motivated and it wouldn’t be a good look on the player given how things have panned out for him at Old Trafford.
Ever since he secured a £73 million transfer to the club, he has struggled to prove his worth to the manager that brought him in, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and now Erik ten Hag.
From 82 games in all competitions, he has 12 goals and six assists, as this next move needs to work out.
Whilst Stan Collymore questioned the possibility of moving to the ever-growing Saudi Pro League, he made it clear that he now needs to build his reputation up again.
Jadon Sancho leaving Manchester United
“Although Jadon Sancho’s proposed loan move back to Borussia Dortmund has yet to be finalised and announced, it looks to be only a matter of time before he returns to Germany, and I think that’s the best thing for him at this moment in time,” said Collymore.
“There is almost no chance he ever returns to fight for his place at Old Trafford, so his only motivation from now until the end of the season should be on playing his absolute best and getting his reputation back to where it was before he signed for United in the hope of attracting as much interest as possible in the summer.
“If he prioritises financial gain over anything else, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he agreed to join a club in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League, but if he is determined to make it at the highest level, he may have to sacrifice some earnings and accept a move to a club whose stature isn’t what Manchester United’s is.”

Jadon Sancho back to Dortmund
This is where he made a name for himself, so there is no reason why he can’t showcase that form again.
It probably still won’t earn him plaudits from those Man United critics because all he can do is put in strong performances.
You never know in football. Things work out in a weird way and things can flip on their heads in an instant.
That’s why it’s paramount that he just continues to play a part in winning football again, or else, his career will continue to go backwards.
