The former Liverpool striker believes that around good players, the French youngster “could thrive” at Anfield or at the Etihad Stadium.
Collymore wrote in The Mirror (print edition, page 61, July 12, 2020): “Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp might feel he’s not good enough for Manchester City or Liverpool, but I’d be inclined to disagree, because being around good players he could thrive.
“I’m not saying he’d get into either’s first XI now. But he could play for either club, the talent is that obvious.”
Arsenal situation
Guendouzi’s future at Arsenal is uncertain at the moment, with ESPN reporting last week that the 21-year-old midfielder is training on his own at the moment and ‘is yet to be reinstated in the first team squad’.
It was reported that the Frenchman has yet to apologise for grabbing Neal Maupay by the throat during the Premier League game against Brighton and Hove Albion last month.
It remains to be seen what eventually materialises, but one should not be surprised if the player leaves the Gunners this summer.
Thriving at Liverpool or Manchester City?
Guendouzi is a very talented and promising young midfielder who will get better in the coming years.
Working with world-class managers such as Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola would make him better, but he also needs to work on his temperament and add consistency to his game.
