Would Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has suggested on Boylesports.com that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero would be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
“I’ve written before about a big name going to Spurs, a big name such as a Cantona-like figure that was a catalyst to United’s success,” Collymore wrote on Boylesports.com.
“Zlatan is doing his level best to repeat that in a turbulent period for United and off the top of my head I can’t think of anyone available who would fit the bill.
“An Aguero if surplus at City in the summer? A Phillip Lahm to come in and be a guy that the dressing room responds to and learns to win from? Whoever it is I hope Spurs go on to great success.”
Massive Coup
Aguero is one of the best strikers on the planet and is a genuinely world-class footballer. Signing the City star in the summer transfer window would be a massive coup for Tottenham.
Harry Kane is the first-choice striker at Spurs and has been stunning for the North London outfit for the past three or so seasons.
However, Aguero is more experienced and is a better striker, and the 28-year-old could be a massive figure in Tottenham’s 2017-18 Champions League campaign.
City, though, may not be willing to sell the former Atletico Madrid star to a direct rival for the Premier League.
Moreover, wages for the Argentina international could also be an issue for Tottenham and so could be the transfer fee that City would want.
Aguero has scored 16 goals and created 22 chances in 25 Premier League appearances for City so far this season.
