Former Aston Villa striker and current pundit Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to suggest that Burnley boss Sean Dyche would be ‘insane’ to take the Villa job.
Villa are searching for yet another new manager, as Roberto Di Matteo lost his job this time a week ago, with the Italian lasting just 124 days in the job.

With just one league win in 11 Championship games this season, Villa’s hopes of an instant return to the Premier League are already in danger – and owner Tony Xia must now get the next appointment right, given that Villa have now had a string of poor managers.
Steve Bruce is the current favourite for the job having told Sky Sports that he has held talks with Villa, but other managers have been linked with moves to Villa Park over the last week.

The Daily Mail reported last week that Burnley boss Sean Dyche was also in contention for the job along with Bruce, but it seems that Dyche will be staying with the Clarets.
The 45-year-old has emerged as one of the top English managers around having won two promotions to the Premier League with Burnley, and his record of going up from the Championship will have impressed Villa.

Ultimately, with Bruce closing in on the job, Dyche surely won’t be heading to Villa Park, but Villa fans have asked former striker, current pundit and fan of the club Stan Collymore about alleged interest in the former Watford boss.
Collymore suggested that Dyche would be ‘insane’ to swap Burnley for Villa, as he has a good squad at his disposal, a solid board behind him and a sound structure too – as well as Premier League football, something Villa can’t offer despite their perceived status as a bigger club than Burnley.
