The West Ham United midfielder wants a more attacking role it seems.

It looks like West Ham United’s Declan Rice has adventurous plans for his position.

The England international has established himself as one of the best young defensive midfielders in Europe over the past couple of years.

In fact, The Irish Independent has reported that West Ham have slapped a £50 million valuation on the 20-year-old, underlining his quality and promise.

But according to Stan Collymore, the Hammers star wants a more attacking role soon.

If true, it’s quite ambitious by Rice.

Yes, he’s a wonderful technical footballer as well as an ox-like midfielder, but this is the position that he’s made his name in and you wonder whether it’s a bit of a risk if he tries to explore other positions.

Is he nimble and creative enough to operate as, say, a number 10? Even as a deep-lying midfielder, does Rice have the range to be a success in that mould?

If the West Ham star plans on playing further forward then you would imagine that he’s relatively confident in his own ability, but time will tell whether it materialises.
