Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the midst of a really poor run in the Premier League.

Dublin , Ireland - 13 November 2017; Former England international Stan Collymore, now working as journalist for RT, asks a question during a Republic of Ireland press conference at the FAI...

Stan Collymore suggested that there could be real trouble ahead for Tottenham, should they fail to finish inside the top four this season, when writing his regular column for the Mirror.

Spurs currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier Legaue table, level on points with fifth placed Manchester United, and two points adrift of bitter rivals Arsenal in third place.

Mauricio Pochettino deserves much credit for the work that he has done since taking over at Tottenham in the summer of 2013, but questions must be asked of his management, if he fails to guide them to Champions League qualification this term.

And Collymore explained why Europa League football next season for Spurs would be nothing short of a disaster for them as a football club, when writing his regular column for the Mirror:

Mauricio Pochettino manager

“It will be stretching the bounds of loyalty to expect the shiny new venue to be the reason for Spurs’ big names to stay if they don’t get Champions League football next season. My big worry? If Spurs didn’t get into the top four would a fantastic stadium be enough for those players to stay? if it is only Europa League football next season, that would mean five or six Spurs employees on the pitch, and the management team, would be under hostile bids from other clubs in the summer.”

Next up for Tottenham is a home game against Crystal Palace tomorrow night, and they desperately need all three points, if they are to keep the pressure up on Arsenal above them in the Premier League table.
