Stan Collymore has given his take on Twitter on Matt Doherty’s move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham completed the signing of Doherty from Premier League rivals Wolves on Sunday.

Former Aston Villa and Liverpool striker Collymore has commented on the role of super agent Jorge Mendes in the transfer, and he does not seem to be too impressed.

Collymore has also responded to comments from the Republic of Ireland international right-back following his move.

As quoted in The National, the 28-year-old – who can operate as a right-back or as a right wing-back – said that “it was a no-brainer” for him to join Spurs.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Doherty is a very good right-back and is at the top of his game, and the 28-year-old will make an immediate impact at Spurs.

Serge Aurier is a good right-back, but he needs competition, and Doherty will be confident of going straight into head coach Jose Mourinho’s starting lineup.

Tottenham will be aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table next season.
