Stan Collymore says that Harry Kane could end up at a big club like Real Madrid.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has hailed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as a complete player who is very good at everything.
The England international, who has 23 caps under his belt, is enjoying a rich form this season, and has taken his game to a whole new level.
He has scored five goals in the Champions League so far in two games, and already players, managers, and pundits are saying that he has reached an elite level.
Popular football pundit, Stan Collymore says that Kane is “growing” as a player, and that he could end up at a big club like Real Madrid.
He adds that if the 24-year-old continues to play at this level, there’s no reason why he couldn’t play for any other team on the planet.
Collymore says that he wants to see Kane making a difference in big games, and doing something “out of the ordinary” like Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar or Suarez.
“The more I see of Harry Kane, the more I’m starting to believe he could end up at a club such as Real Madrid. He’s answering every question that is being asked of him and he’s growing as a player,” wrote Collymore for The Mirror.
“If he continues on this trajectory there’s no reason why he couldn’t play for any team on the planet.
“But what I’d like to see now is him taking a game such as tonight’s against Real Madrid by the scruff of the neck and being the player who makes the difference in the biggest matches.
“We know he has the ability to play for a Real, a Barcelona or a Bayern Munich, but has he got the galactico mentality to swim with the biggest sharks in the tank.”
Whenever someone is making such comments, the obvious objection that comes here is why can’t Kane continue with Spurs for a long time?
Spurs are gradually improving under Pochettino, and if Kane manages to win titles / trophies with the north London club, why would he consider leaving the club (unless Spurs are forced to sell him)?
Tottenham fans shouldn’t be very happy with such comments. Pochettino said ahead of the match that he wants Kane to follow the footsteps of Roma legend Francesco Totti, and become a one-club man.
It doesn’t always make sense that a good player should have to leave the club to join Barcelona or Real Madrid. Steven Gerrard rejected the chance to join Real Madrid on two occasions and he is still remembered as a great player and a Liverpool legend.
So, why cannot Kane emulate such figures and make Tottenham proud by making history with the north London club?
