Newcastle got the better of Huddersfield Town 1-0 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Also on Saturday afternoon, Palace won 1-0 against Leicester City at Selhurst Park in the league.
The results mean that Newcastle are now six points above the relegation zone, while the Eagles are five points clear of the bottom three.

Relegation worries
Both Newcastle and Palace are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and the wins on Saturday will have certainly enhanced their chances of escaping the drop.
The Magpies and the Eagles need to put together a run of positive results now, as the likes of Huddersfield, Southampton, Fulham, Burnley and Cardiff City all have it what it takes to climb up the league table.
