Leeds United dramatically beat Aston Villa at Villa Park today.

Stan Collymore has offered his congratulations to Leeds United’s for this afternoon’s stunning 3-2 win at Aston Villa.

Aston Villa led 2-0 at the break, after goals from Tammy Abraham and Conor Hourihane.

But Leeds proved why they are top of the Championship and produced a rousing second-half display to peg back Dean Smith’s side.

First, 18-year-old wonderkid Jack Clarke, thrown into the mix by Marcelo Bielsa at half-time, halved the deficit for what was his very first Leeds goal on 56 minutes, before Pontus Jansson levelled up shortly after the hour mark.

With time running out, Kemar Roofe, the Whites’ top scorer this season, scored arguably his most important goal of the campaign in the dying moments.

Bielsa’s side moved back above Norwich at the summit, restoring a six-point cushion in the automatic promotion places.

It’s days like this which makes you wonder whether it really is written that Leeds are destined to make their long-awaited Premier League return, after a 15-year absence.

Not that luck had anything to do with their come-from-behind win. It was their resilience, as Collymore pointed out, and they deserve this.
