Aston Villa have signed Yannick Bolasie on a season-long loan from Everton.

The 29-year-old winger was at Villa Park earlier this week to watch his new side draw 2-2 with Brentford.

It was a massive clue over his preferred destination, amid speculation that Middlesbrough were also keen, and his transfer from Everton has now been made official.

And here is how Aston Villa legend Stan Collymore reacted to the news on Twitter:

Meanwhile, his new team-mate Jack Grealish was also quick to send the jet-heeled attacker a message on social media.

The writing was pretty much on the wall for the DR Congo international when Everton signed Richarlison, and then Bernard.

Regular football for the Goodison Park side would have been nigh-on impossible under Marco Silva and therefore it’s probably a smart choice by Bolasie to leave.

Aston Villa host Reading today but it remains to be seen whether the new man – who hasn’t played a minute for the Toffees this season – is fit enough to make his debut.
