Stan Collymore says that he is delighted that Aston Villa are set to complete a deal for Emiliano Buendia.
Buendia’s move to Villa edged closer today, as Norwich City announced that they had agreed a fee with the claret and blues for the playmaker.
Villa are thought to have beaten Arsenal in the race to sign the attacking midfielder, in an impressive show of ambition.
Buendia will now arrive at Villa later this week, when he returns from international duty, and become the club’s record signing.
And Collymore feels that the 24-year-old could be a great addition to Dean Smith’s squad.
Buendia and Grealish together
If Villa can bring in Buendia and keep hold of Jack Grealish then they really could torment opposition defences next term.
Buendia was one of the stars of the Championship last season, as he provided goals and assists aplenty.
If the creator can link up with Grealish next term then Villa will have threats from all angles, and it will stop opposition sides from being able to double up on their captain to limit his effectiveness.
The fact that Buendia has picked Villa over Arsenal also looks very encouraging, as the claret and blues appear to have some highly ambitious plans for the future.
