The former Leeds United boss has been appointed at Middlesbrough.

Middlesbrough have announced Garry Monk as their new manager.
The 38-year-old joins the Championship club less than a month after leaving Leeds United.
Monk will be officially unveiled by Boro at a press conference on Monday.

The former Swansea City boss came close to guiding Leeds into the playoffs last season, but a horrendous run of one victory in eight games toward the end of the campaign put paid to United’s dream of promotion for another season at least.
Nevertheless, he certainly enhanced his reputation during the year-long stay at Elland Road, and Stan Collymore appears to have given his seal of approval to the move on Twitter.

Middlesbrough were relegated from the Premier League last term after managing just five wins from 38 games, leading to the dismissal of Aitor Karanka.
Ironically, the Spanish manager is among those tipped to replace Monk at Leeds and The Telegraph reported on Friday that he would be interested in the job.
Nevertheless, the Whites fans will be bitter about Monk’s exit for a while, but if their team wins promotion next season and Boro don’t then that might go some way to healing the disappointment of his exit.
