Villa suffered a 3-0 defeat to Cardiff away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing put the Welsh outfit in the lead in the 21st minute, and Junior Hoilett doubled the advantage for the home team on the hour mark.
Mendez-Laing wrapped up the scoring for Cardiff on 71 minutes, as the Bluebirds picked up all three points from the encounter.
