Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings has been called up by England.

Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings was struggling to get into the Bournemouth side at the start of the year, but now he’s in the England squad.
It’s been a sensational year for Mings. The former Ipswich Town talent struggled with form and injuries at Bournemouth, meaning they had no qualms loaning him to Aston Villa in January.
Mings stepped up though at Villa, becoming a dominant centre back and a fantastic leader, playing a key role in the club’s eventual promotion back to the Premier League.
Villa paid big money to land Mings permanently, forking out a deal worth around £25million to sign him according to Sky Sports.
Some thought that was too expensive, but Villa’s decision has paid off so far, with Mings turning in some superb performances upon his return to the top flight.
Now, Mings has been rewarded with a shock England call-up, with Gareth Southgate bringing the 26-year-old into his squad for games against Bulgaria and Kosovo.

Mings’ ability to play at left back will be important given concerns about Ben Chilwell’s fitness, and he now has a real chance to establish himself on the international stage.
Ex-Villa striker Stan Collymore has now taken to Twitter to react to the news, praising him not only for his displays this season but also for his journey back from injury woes at Bournemouth.
