Writing in the Mirror, Stan Collymore has predicted that David Moyes’ stay at Sunderland will be a short one.
The former Everton and Manchester United manager took charge at the Stadium of Light this summer following the departure of Sam Allardyce.
Sunderland will be hoping he proves to be a long-term appointment given the manner in which they have gone through managers in recent years.

Moyes will be equally keen to make his mark after being written off following his spells with Manchester United and Real Sociedad.
Collymore though, is predicting another short managerial stint, saying he believes Ellis Short will want something new in a couple of years.
“I think he [Moyes] will be just okay for Sunderland for a couple of years,” he told the Mirror.
“Beyond that, Ellis Short, who has put in a lot of money, will be looking for a newer, fresher approach. Somebody who can dare to dream like a Claudio Ranieri, a Mauricio Pochettino, or a Ronald Koeman.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how Moyes fares at Sunderland given the downward trajectory his career has taken in recent years.
Much is likely to rest on the signings that he can make before the end of the transfer window, with the current Sunderland squad in need of reinforcement of improvement.
So far his signings have not been all that impressive and he will be keen to secure bigger and better signings to try and ensure his first season is a good one.
