Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore is impressed with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Former Aston Villa striker Stan Collymore has praised Wolverhampton Wanderers on social networking site Twitter.

The former Liverpool and Nottingham Forest striker has stated that Wolves have recruited well and are playing good football.

Collymore has also admitted that he has been wrong about Jorge Mendes’s involvement at the Wanderers so far.

As reported by The Guardian in June 2017, Mendes’s role at Wolves, who won 3-2 against Preston North End at home in the Championship on Saturday, is advisory.

Wolves are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 13 matches.

The Wanderers are two points clear of second-placed Cardiff City and are firm contenders for automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are playing good football at the moment, and the players are high on confidence.

However, it is still quite early in the season, and it remains to be seen if Wolves are able to maintain consistency over the coming weeks and months.
