Newcastle United are currently top of the Championship after 14 games.
Writing in the Mirror, Stan Collymore has warned Newcastle United they will need to add more quality to their squad if they are promoted back to the Premier League.
The Magpies are currently three points clear at the top of the Championship after 14 games of the season.
Their success has been largely built on the work they did in the summer transfer window, with Rafa Benitez making a number of signings to overhaul the squad he inherited from Steve McClaren.
Indeed, for many, the Spaniard has the best squad in the division at his disposal.

Collymore, though, has warned that should they make it back into the top flight they will have to add much more quality to their current group.
“Newcastle need a lot more quality than they’ve got if they want to make a splash when they get back in the Premier League,” he told the Mirror.
“But Rafa will have a plan for that and his first priority is to manage the crazy Championship schedule which he appears to be doing just nicely.”

Newcastle would certainly be wise to focus on getting out of the Championship before thinking about the Premier League too soon.
They have made a strong start to the campaign so far but will know that it is a long campaign with many twists and turns yet to come in the remaining 32 games.
This weekend sees them taking on Preston North End and they will keen to chalk up another win to take them one step closer to an immediate return to the top flight.
