Stan Collymore has suggested that the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal should be slapped with a five year transfer ban.

Liverpool and Arsenal were among a clutch a five clubs who tried to join the European Super League, before backing out.

There has been fierce backlash over the attempt to join a new competition, with the Premier League still discussing what the appropriate repercussions each side should face.

And Collymore feels that a transfer ban would be the best way of going about things.

The chances of Arsenal and Liverpool being handed a transfer ban look extremely slim.

Sky Sports have reported that the Premier League clubs are more keen to punish the board members who pushed through with the idea than the clubs.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool would almost certainly suffer if a transfer ban was slapped upon them.

Mikel Arteta’s and Jurgen Klopp’s sides are both thought to be set to be active this summer, with both teams falling short of expectations this term.
