Stan Collymore has mocked Arsenal defender Ben White on Twitter following defeat by Liverpool tonight.

The Gunners have been eliminated from the Carabao Cup just one round before the final of the competition.

Arsenal went into the second leg with a reasonably decent chance of beating Jurgen Klopp’s troops to book a meeting with Chelsea at Wembley.

However, Liverpool ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at the Emirates Stadium.

The reason why Arsenal would’ve been fancied to progress is because during the first leg, the Londoners earned a heroic 0-0 draw despite playing 65 minutes with 10 men.

The hosts could and should’ve won last week and Takumi Minamino spurned a glorious chance in stoppage time, missing an open goal by firing over the crossbar.

White, a £50 million signing by Arsenal last summer, celebrated the miss like it was a goal in an image which rapidly became a meme on social media.

However, Collymore, a former Liverpool attacker, has used the meme against White tonight by posting a photo of Diogo Jota racing clear of him to score the visitors’ second of the encounter.

Erratic

The former Brighton defender was sublime at Anfield last week but, this time around, Jota had his number for the entire outing.

White majorly struggled to contain the Portuguese attacker, who set up a Kaide Gordon chance earlier in the game by skimming the Arsenal star.

Still, it’s another learning experience for the young central defender, who has only 18 months of Premier League football under his belt and no doubt he’ll improve as a result of facing tricky customers like Jota.
