Stan Collymore says that Harry Kane is worth more than £100 million.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte caused a consternation among the Tottenham Hotspur fans when he publicly revealed his admiration for Harry Kane.
The Italian has described Kane as one of the top strikers in the world.
He openly claimed that if he had to buy one striker he would go for Kane, but also admitted that the England striker would cost at least £100 million.
Former Liverpool striker and now turned football pundit, Stan Collymore, believes that Conte is wrong with his valuation on Kane.
He says that in the current inflated market if Neymar is reportedly worth £220 million, and Kylian Mbappe, a 18-year-old player who just had one good season with Monaco, is valued at £160 million, then Kane is “worth well north of that estimate.”
Indeed, Collymore has a point here. The Tottenham striker has scored over 20 goals in each of the last three Premier League campaigns, and over 30 goals in all competitions in tow of them.
Plus, he is 24, and has a contract at the north London club till 2022.
However, Collymore has praised Conte’s tactics of luring Kane by saying it was straight from “Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola’s book of recruitment tactics.”
“It was clever from Chelsea boss Antonio Conte when he said Tottenham striker Harry Kane was his favourite striker – straight from Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola’s book of recruitment tactics,” said Collymore, as quoted by The Sunday People (printed edition; press reader).
“That pair will give someone they’d like to sign a nod that says, “I’ll have you down the line.” But Conte was wrong when he said Kane was worth £100 million because, if Neymar is worth £220 million and Kylian Mbappe £160 million, the England man is worth well north of that estimate.”
