Tottenham Hotspur held the first of two test events at their new stadium on Sunday.

Stan Collymore has written in The Mirror that he can see no problem with the late opening of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium.
The stadium, which cost £1 billion and was six months late in opening, held the first of two test events yesterday as Spurs Under-18s faced Southampton.
The next experimental event is a Legends game this weekend and if all goes well Tottenham will play their first senior game there against Crystal Palace on Wednesday week.
There are a number of innovative features which has Lilywhites fans raving about the whole experience – including the way in which drinks are filled from the bottom upwards, something Collymore’s friends have been praising.
He wrote in The Mirror: “I’ve no idea why some people are still bleating about the timing of Tottenham’s stadium move. About the integrity of the Premier League competition being compromised or this, that and the other.
“Yes, Harry Kane might up his performance by 10 per cent in every game Spurs play there for the rest of the season. The same might go for several of his team-mates, too.
“But if you tell me that visiting sides’ players won’t be buzzing to perform at the new ground as well, then I’ll tell you you’re talking a load of old cobblers.
“I had a couple of mates who went to the first test event on Sunday and they were raving about the way their beer glasses were filled, about concourses you can drive a juggernaut down and the magnificent, sweeping new stand.”
Due to the constant delays, there were many who believed that Spurs should not move into their new home until next season, on the basis that it has been unfair to some sides who have to play them at their stadium.
And there’s certainly an argument there, but Collymore is right – opposition players will get a buzz out of playing there too.
