Stan Collymore gives verdict on Arsenal, asks a question, some fans respond

Stan Collymore gave his take on Arsenal on Twitter while watching them in action against Aston Villa last night.

Arsenal suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Villa at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

It was a very disappointing display from the Gunners, as Dean Smith’s side were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the match in North London.

Former Villa striker Collymore was following the match, and he was not impressed with Arsenal.

Collymore asked a question about the Gunners on Twitter, and some Arsenal fans have responded, as shown below.

This Arsenal performance, even if they end up winning, is why I just can't get behind any excitement they build over runs of 5 or 6 games.

Little character, personality, nothing you can hang your hat on and say is decisive about them.

Stan, don't think we've been genuinely competitive team since 05/06ish when our general left. We've never replaced him or come close. Henry was immense throughout the following years but even he couldn't drag the squad beyond aveage. We've had good players, just not at same time.

Staying patient

Arsenal are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title this season, but the Gunners are certainly in the race for the top four.

Mikel Arteta is quite new in football management, and it will take time for the Spaniard to get things right at the Premier League club.

There will be upsets and disappointing results on the way, like the one against Villa, but the fans should stay optimistic and confident about the team’s success under Arteta this season and beyond.
