Mousa Dembele has impressed with his performances in the heart of Tottenham Hotspur’s midfield.
Stan Collymore has told the London Evening Standard that Mousa Dembele has not achieved what he should have at Tottenham Hotspur.
Dembele has won a number of plaudits for his display in the North London derby last weekend.
The Belgian midfielder was a powerhouse in Tottenham’s midfield, as they claimed a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Dembele won Spurs a penalty, which Harry Kane converted, and generally impressed with his display.
However, Collymore does not believe that Dembele has been consistent enough to be labelled a genius – as Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has claimed.
“He’s a real Rolls-Royce when he gets going. But he’s not, as his Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed after the North London derby, a genius because there could and should have been so much more from him over the years,” he said.
“Dembele has all the ability needed to take any game by the scruff of the neck and dictate it, yet too often he’s excellent for five or six matches and then quiet for the next few.”

Dembele has thrived at Spurs since being converted into a more deep lying midfield role.
The 29-year-old now sits in front of Tottenham’s defence, and is tasked with driving his side forward when in possession.
Dembele is recognised as one of the strongest players in the Premier League, with his composure on the ball one of his greatest assets.
Dembele is likely to start when Spurs are next in action, against West Ham United in two weeks’ time.
