Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool struggled in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Stan Collymore has criticised Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp on Boylesports.com.

The former Nottingham Forest and Liverpool striker was not impressed with the performances of Tottenham and the Reds in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

While Liverpool suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield in the fourth round of the prestigious cup competition, Tottenham had to come from behind to get the better of Wycombe Wanderers at White Hart Lane.

Collymore has criticised both Spurs and Liverpool for not having enough depth in their respective squads in his Boylesports.com column.

“Poch has tried to be too clever by having a very small squad,” Collymore wrote on Boylesports.com. “Klopp has been too clever thinking he has all of the answers in the academy (developing players).”

“Liverpool, Spurs in particular but every Premier League club and a few in the Championship are making excuses,” he added.

“The money is there, staff your squad of 22 properly or face criticism, whoever you are, whatever club you are.”

Tottenham and Liverpool made a number of changes to their respective starting lineups on Saturday afternoon.

While one can understand why Pochettino and Klopp would want some of their fringe players to get some playing time, Collymore does have a point.

Given the money in the Premier League, top clubs such as Spurs and Liverpool should have enough depth in their respective squads to win against teams such as Wolves and Wycombe with ease.

Tottenham are third in the Premier League table at the moment, while Liverpool are currently fourth in the standings.
