Stan Collymore spent two years at Nottingham Forest.
Stan Collymore has said on Facebook that he does not believe Nottingham Forest will finish in the playoff places in the Championship this season, adding that he is concerned about a number of factors at his former club.
The Reds enjoyed a good start to life under French manager Philippe Montanier after beating Burton Albion 4-3 on the opening day of the season, but back-to-back defeats by Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford has brought Forest back to earth a little.
The Nottingham Post reported early this month that Olympiacos managing director John Vrentzos quit his role with the Greek giants amid speculation of a chief executive role for him at The City Ground.
That followed reports that the club’s president Evangelos Marinakis was hoping to buy an 80% stake in Nottingham Forest.
Collymore spent two years with the club until 1995 and the former striker told a Q&A session on Stadium Astro’s Facebook page that he is not optimistic that a playoff spot beckons for his beloved Reds.
“I’m a bit concerned with Forest. I’m a bit concerned with the Olympiacos owner getting involved. Getting in a foreign manager with no Championship credentials is always a concern. I think it’ll be midtable. They can beat anybody on their day but you do need consistency.”
