The former Red thinks the Hull City player is just what Liverpool are looking for.

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has commented on Andrew Robertson’s seemingly imminent move to Anfield, and he is clearly impressed by the 23-year-old.

As reported by Sky Sports, Robertson will have a medical with Liverpool on Thursday ahead of his switch from Hull City and ESPN are claiming the fee could ultimately be in the region of £10million.

It is no secret that Liverpool need a new left-back after playing midfielder James Milner out of position for much of last season.

While Alberto Moreno remains on Liverpool’s books for now, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp does not appear to have full trust in the player and with Robertson arriving the Spaniard may have to make do with a bit-part role. once more.

That said, Liverpool’s return to the Champions League means they will be battling on four fronts when the new campaign kicks off next month and Klopp will need a big squad to cope with the demands of domestic and European football.

When asked what he thought of Robertson, Collymore was quick to praise the player, saying, “I like him. (He is a) steady Eddie, rarely going to be above or below a 7/10, just what the Redmen need.”

Robertson featured 39 times for Hull last season and he left the Tigers with 115 appearances under his belt. In that time he scored five goals and provided 10 assists and he could soon be looking forward to a title tilt and a Champions League challenge.
