Sunderland are currently in 19th place in the Premier League table.
Stan Collymore has told the Daily Mirror that Sunderland’s players need to take responsibility for their struggles.
Sunderland have been fighting against relegation over numerous season and a number of different managers.
And Collymore claims that the Black Cats’ squad need to take some of the blame for their recent struggles.

“Sunderland have had a number of managers now and most of them have been good ones,” Collymore said.
“They have an owner who’s a little bit loud, a little bit brash and maybe even a little bit naive in the football industry, but he has put his money where his mouth is.
“So what is the common denominator with Sunderland’s poor positions and form in recent years? The players. It’s time to take responsibility, lads.”

Sunderland have managed to narrowly avoid relegation for a number of years, but they have found it difficult to progress.
The Wearsiders cannot seem to avoid the relegation scrap, and there are fears that this could be the year that the finally do not make it out of trouble.
Sunderland are currently in 19th place in the Premier League table, and they lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace in their most recent outing.
Despite failing to win any of their last five matches, Sunderland still remain only one point from safety, giving them some hope of getting out of trouble if they can find form in the coming weeks.
