The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was superb against Real Madrid this week.

Football pundit Stan Collymore has taken to Twitter to comment on Dele Alli’s performance for Tottenham Hotspur against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, and he has suggested that in time the 21-year-old will be skippering his country.
Alli scored a brace in Tottenham’s 3-1 victory against the La Liga giants to ensure Spurs reached the knockout stages of the Champions League with two games still to play.

That is a remarkable achievement given that Tottenham had to overcome not only Real but also Borussia Dortmund, and Alli found the perfect time to rediscover his best form.
“Dele, as I have said (is) England captain material,” Collymore wrote. “Be patient with him. He’s special.”
He certainly is, and after sitting out Tottenham’s first three group games this season due to suspension he proved his worth in emphatic fashion.

How frustrating it must have been to watch Tottenham run out at the Bernabeu knowing he could not be involved. However Alli made up for that this week and his name will be on the lips of football fans across the globe after his latest star turn.
Whether Alli will one day be captaining club and country remains to be seen, but Tottenham have a gem on their hands and Real found that out first hand.
