Stan Collymore believes Ronald Koeman is on borrowed time at Everton

Everton could only manage to pick up a 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion in their latest match.

Stan Collymore has told the Daily Mirror that Everton boss Ronald Koeman needs to be seriously worried for his job, after Peter Reid came out and criticised him in the media.

Reid stated publicly in midweek that Koeman was doing a poor job at Goodison Park.

And Collymore believes that when club legends are coming out in the press and criticising Koeman it means that his time could be up.

“I read an interview with Peter Reid the other day in which he said Koeman’s Everton should be a top-four side,” Collymore said.

“And when you have club legends turning the screw like that, it’s not good for the Dutchman.”

Koeman’s job is very much on the line, and Wayne Rooney may have just saved the Dutch boss earlier today.

Everton had fallen behind against Brighton & Hove Albion when Anthony Knockaert scored, and at that point it seemed that Koeman’s days were numbered.

However, Rooney scored from the spot in the last minute to rescue a point for Everton and, perhaps, offer Koeman a lifeline.

Despite avoiding defeat at the AMEX Stadium, Everton are still performing well below expectations this season.

The Toffees are currently in 16th place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Arsenal.
