West Bromwich Albion signed Kieran Gibbs, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Jay Rodriguez and Gareth Barry among other players in the summer transfer window.
West Bromwich Albion were quite busy in the summer transfer window and signed a number of players.
Forward Jay Rodriguez arrived from Premier League rivals Southampton, while midfielder Gareth Barry made the switch from Everton.
The Baggies signed winger Oliver Burke from RB Leipzig, striker Zhang Yuning from Vitesse, left-back Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal and defender Kyle Jameson from Chelsea.
West Brom also brought in central defender Ahmed Hegazy from Al Ahly and defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak from Paris Saint-Germain on season-long loan deals.
The Baggies finished 10th in the Premier League table last season, and manager Tony Pulis will be determined to build on that during the 2016-17 campaign.
Pulis’s side have made a strong start to the 2017-18 Premier League campaign as well, and are fifth in the league table at the moment with seven points from three matches.
Former Liverpool and Nottingham Forest striker Stan Collymore does not seem to be too impressed with the summer signings that West Brom have made.
Meanwhile, former West Brom midfielder Andy Townsend has praised the Baggies for signing 27-year-old Krychowiak, who can also operate as a central defender.
“I think it’s a real statement for West Brom, and where they are as a club,” Townsend told Sky Sports about Krychowiak.
“They have new owners, a new financial model they are working to. Even though it’s a loan deal, it’s a real big accomplishment.”
