Liverpool academy product Rhian Brewster is winning plaudits far and wide as he continues to thrive in the Championship with Swansea City.

Marc Guehi, who is a highly-rated youngster at Chelsea, is on-loan at Swansea with Brewster and he praised the Liverpool man for scoring on Sunday during their 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday.

The Chelsea man labelled Brewster a ‘fantastic’ striker and praised his ‘humble’ character after the game, as he told Sky Sports Football (05/07/20 at 2:50 pm).

“I think he’s a fantastic striker,” Guehi told Sky Sports whilst picking up his Man of the Match award.

“Someone that is really level-headed, humble and down to earth. I think it helps when you have a lot of old heads around. Even though [we are] a young team. There is a lot of experience in this team.

“The fact that he was able to get those goals, mature as he is, it’s fantastic.”

Last summer, Swansea lost their manager, Graham Potter to Brighton and two of their top stars – Dan James and Ollie McBurnie – to the Premier League.

Even though they have lost such quality, with Steve Cooper at the helm and the signing of Brewster in January, the Welsh club are dreaming of a return to the promised land.

With the attacking threat of Brewster and former West Ham player, Andre Ayew, they would be a dangerous side in the play-offs if they can secure a top-six finish.

Either way, both Brewster and Swansea have benefited from his loan move, and if they don’t earn promotion then going back to the Liberty Stadium might just be a smart move for the Liverpool attacker next season.
