A Bola recently reported that Wolves were closing in on a £17.8million deal for Nakajima, but that talk has quietened down a little in recent days.
Record note that the deal is stalling, and could lead to Leicester City and Southampton swooping in – and Wolves’ desire to push that deal through may have been dented.
That’s because Nakajima has now been named in Japan’s squad for the AFC Asian Cup in January, meaning he likely wouldn’t even be available until February.
Nakajima would also be a long-term signing, but they may rather get in a player like Bruma given that their deal for the Japanese talent appears to be stalling as it is, without this latest blow.
