Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration after Anthony Gordon lunged in on Nuno Tavares last night.
What’s the story?
Well, some Arsenal fans may have felt that Ben Godfrey should’ve been sent off after treading on Takehiro Tomiyasu’s face.
As gruesome as that incident looked, it was purely accidental from the Everton man, and Mike Dean made the right decision.
However, Dean definitely should’ve shown Gordon a red card in the 76th minute, after he flew into Nuno Tavares with his studs up.
Bizarrely, Dean only gave a throw in, and the Toffees forward wasn’t even shown a yellow card.
It was reckless. Gordon’s studs were up, and we see no reason why VAR didn’t at least order Dean to check the incident again.
Arsenal have been hard done by

Remember Granit Xhaka’s red card against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season?
In our view, there was far less force involved in that challenge in comparison to Gordon’s lunge, but Xhaka was shown a straight red card.
Mikel Arteta’s side could’ve played better than they did, although the Spaniard will still feel hard done by after watching the footage.

Nuno Tavares was fortunate to walk away from the incident without suffering an injury.
The Gunners have now lost two Premier League games in a row, which is a shame given how well they’ve been doing in recent weeks.
For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the 76th minute moment…
