Marcelo Bielsa has stated that Tottenham striker Harry Kane has ‘stability in his performances’, as he told Leeds Live.

The Leeds United boss will have prepared pretty thoroughly for one of the best strikers, not just in the Premier League, but in the world ahead of their weekend showdown.

The Tottenham hitman is leading the Premier League’s goalscoring and assists charts this season, which is a remarkable feat given that his team have struggled this term.

And whilst Leeds fans would have been pleased that Kane’s shooting boots weren’t on over the weekend, it would have worried them even more that they still managed to score four, without their number nine getting on the scoresheet.

Nonetheless, ahead of Leeds’ clash with Tottenham at Saturday lunchtime, this is what Bielsa had to say about Kane’s evolution as a player.

“Harry Kane has stability in his performances throughout the whole campaign,” said Bielsa. “To consider the performance he had against us such a long time ago.

“To look or say he has evolved or not since that time against us, it’s not an exercise that is convenient because he has a regularity in his game we don’t need to look back so far.”

Only a Manchester City player – namely Ruben Dias – will perhaps beat Kane to the Player of the Season award.

In terms of performances, whilst Spurs have struggled, thrived, looked like they are challenging for the title, to sacking Jose Mourinho, one thing hasn’t changed… and that’s the relentless performances of Kane.

Kalvin Phillips, who will be looking to return to action for Leeds, will be well aware of what Kane is like having played alongside him for England, and if he plays at the weekend then he will have his work cut out.
