It has been reported that Barnsley have been reluctantly granted permission to speak to the 41-year-old.

St Mirren’s Jack Ross is the new 10/11 favourite for the Barnsley manager’s job, with Sky Bet.
It follows a report in the Scottish Sun on Tuesday, which claims Barnsley have been reluctantly granted permission to speak to the 41-year-old.
Ross, who was as low as 25/1 beforehand, has swiftly surpassed Mick McCarthy (7/4), Paul Simpson (5/4) to become the new front-runner for the role, vacated by Paul Heckingbottom last week.

As well as the aforementioned trio, Paul Harsley, the Barnsley caretaker manager (11/2), Danny Cowley (6/1) and Grant McCann (9/1) are all highly placed.
Ross has led St Mirren to the top of the Scottish Championship this season, following a successful introduction to management at Alloa.
Should the Scot land the job, he would reunite with former Buddies midfielder Stevie Mallan at Barnsley.

The Tykes dropped into the Championship’s relegation places after Saturday’s draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
