St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson was left to rue fantastic finishes from David Turnbull and Oh Hyeon-Guy as Celtic came from behind to claim a big Scottish Premiership win at Parkhead.
Cynics, would you like ice cream with your slice of humble pie?
Only a few days ago, Hoops hero Chris Sutton was casting doubt on the future of Oh Hyeon-Gyu at Celtic, suggesting that Brendan Rodgers simply ‘doesn’t fancy’ a man who’s place on the bench probably says more about Kyogo Furuhashi’s enduring brilliance than his own faults.

David Turnbull, meanwhile, found himself facing up to the unenviable task of filling the void created by Reo Hatate’s hamstring injury.
Celtic beat St Mirren at Parkhead
So that dramatic, from-behind win over a bullish and confident St Mirren outfit felt like more than just another three points. As Turnbull cancelled out Conor McMenamin’s early opener with a stunning long-range strike Hatate himself would have been proud of, and as Oh rose from the bench to slam in the winner in the dying stages, it was a comeback which shone a light on the strength in depth at Rodgers’ disposal.
“We proved in times in the game that we were a match for Celtic. (But) we sat back. We were too deep. And we didn’t keep the ball like we wanted to,” Robinson says, via the St Mirren Twitter feed.
“I thought we contained them really, really well. We were very good. But then they score a goal… It’s super play (from Turnbull). Sometimes you’re looking for people to blame and find fault. But sometimes you’ve got to hold your hand up and say it’s a fantastic goal.
“They knew they were in a game tonight Celtic. We just got beat by (Oh’s) quality, quality finish in the end.”
‘Quality, quality finish’
Oh’s 83rd minute strike, set up brilliantly by Kyogo and Callum McGregor, maintained Celtic’s five-point lead over a resurgent Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
