Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Dembele left ‘saddened’ by Belgium’s exit from the European Championships.

Belgium had been labeled as one of the contenders to claim victory in the 2016 European Championships and understandably so.
The Red Devils boasted arguably one of the most talented squads and headed into the competition as the highest ranked team, ahead of even world champions Germany.
However, Belgium flattered to deceive during the Championships and were embarrassingly eliminated by underdogs Wales in the Quarter Finals on Friday night.

While the match was a closely contested one, Belgium simply did not perform to their best at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on the night and could have no complaints whatsoever about the final 3-1 result.
Now Belgium head back home with a feeling of ‘what could have been’ and the fans have understandably been left very disappointed by the unceremonious exit from the competition.
Now midfielder Moussa Dembele has gone on to reveal through social media website Twitter that he has been left ‘saddened’ by Belgium’s elimination and went on to thank the Belgian fans for their support.
He posted,
Dembele did not feature on the night for Belgium and managed only 57 minutes of action throughout the competition, largely due to injury.
The Tottenham star was however available for the encounter against Wales and fans responded to the midfielder’s Twitter post in sympathetic fashion.
