Sevilla are reported to be planning to revive their interest in Liverpool’s Luis Alberto.
According to reports from El Pais, Liverpool flop Luis Alberto could still join Europa League champions Sevilla.
Alberto joined Liverpool from Sevilla during the summer of 2013 with the reputation as a prodigious young talent but the midfielder was unable to show his true worth to the Anfield faithful.
As a result, Alberto has been shipped out on loan by Liverpool over the past two seasons and while the 23-year-old may have struggled at Liverpool, he enjoyed a fine campaign at Deportivo La Coruna last term.
Due of his fine form at the Riazor, a number of Spanish clubs are keen on signing Alberto this summer and as the former Barcelona youngster clearly does not feature in the plans of manager Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool were also believed to be happy enough to facilitate his permanent departure.
A return back to Sevilla had been seen as a realistic possibility for Alberto but the Liverpool Echo claimed that the deal fell through as the La Liga outfit were not ready to meet Liverpool’s asking price of around £6 million for the young midfielder.
However according to reports from El Pais, Sevilla are now ready to revive their interest in Alberto as the Europa League champions have freed up some funds following the sale of Fernando Llorente to Swansea City recently.
Alberto is certainly a very talented player but things have just not worked out for him at Liverpool and if Sevilla can come to an agreement with the Reds over the prospective transfer, it could prove to be beneficial for all three parties involved.
