Spanish champions Barcelona are reportedly still keen on securing the services of Hector Bellerin.
According to reports from Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona have not yet given up their hopes of securing the services of Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin.
Following the departure of the long-serving Dani Alves, Barcelona were in the market to sign a new right-back and it was widely reported that the Catalan giants had identified Arsenal star Hector Bellerin as their main target this summer.
Bellerin has managed to establish himself as one of the most promising right-backs in Europe since joining Arsenal from Barcelona back in 2011, and manager Luis Enrique was said to be plotting a move to bring back the 21-year-old to Nou Camp.
Evidently, the transfer did not come to fruition as Arsenal were not willing to sell their young star and consequently Barcelona have been forced to field midfielder Sergi Roberto as a makeshift right-back for the first few matches of the season.
The situation is anything but ideal for Barcelona at the moment and now according to reports from Sport, the Spanish giants are planning to reignite their pursuit to sign Bellerin during the January transfer window.
Arsenal will most certainly be looking to stave off the advances of Barcelona once again in the winter and Bellerin does have three years remaining on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Barcelona have lured the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Alex Song away from Arsenal over the past few years and fans will surely be sweating at the prospect of losing Bellerin to the defending La Liga champions, especially given his past association with the club.
