Newcastle United fans have slammed Georginio Wijnaldum on Twitter for his performance for the Netherlands national team against Ireland.

Wijnaldum did enjoy a decent debut season at Newcastle after scoring 11 goals as well as providing 5 assists and he had initially managed to impress the club faithful with his performances.
However, Wijnaldum went completely missing during the second half of the season and as a result, the Magpies’ faithful have slowly changed their perception regarding the midfielder.

To further irk the Newcastle faithful, Wijnaldum has been dropping hints that he may look to leave St. James’ Park over the summer following the Magpies’ relegation into the Championship and a move to Roma could be on the cards for the 25-year-old, according to the Daily Mail.
Away from the speculation regarding his future, Wijnaldum featured for the Netherlands’ national team in their 1-1 friendly draw against the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on Friday night and the midfielder did not particularly enjoy a good performance, being hauled off in the 82nd minute for Luuk De Jong – who managed to score the equalizer.

Newcastle fans were unsurprisingly not left too impressed with Wijnaldum’s display on the night and following the game, they did not hold back in their criticism of the Dutchman on Twitter.
