Joey Barton has expressed his delight on social media website Twitter at officially becoming a Rangers player.

Rangers have been very active in the transfer market this summer as they prepare for life in the Scottish Premier League once again and arguably the signing which has garnered the most attention has been of midfielder Joey Barton.
Barton had played a key role in helping Burnley earn promotion into the Premier League last season and Rangers managing to lure the 33-year-old to the Ibrox can be seen as a major coup for the Gers.

Confirmation of Barton’s signing had been made back in May but the midfielder has officially become a Rangers player only recently (July 1) and he has unsurprisingly taken to Twitter to mark the occasion.
He posted,
Barton’s arrival has divided opinion among the Rangers faithful but many fans on social media have welcomed the midfielder very warmly.
Barton wasted no time whatsoever in provoking the Celtic fans, slamming the quality of Hoops captain Scott Brown by saying that the Scottish international is ‘not in his league’ during an interview with talkSPORT last month.
Now Barton will need to back his claims on the pitch and while it remains to be seen whether the midfielder will be successful at the Ibrox, his presence will surely make things very interesting.
