Alleged Arsenal target N’Golo Kante has spoken regarding his immediate future at Leicester City.
Speaking to L’Equipe, Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante has gone on to reveal that he is happy to stay put at the King Power Stadium for the time being.
Kante joined Leicester from Caen for a fee of around £5.6million last summer and it would be fair to say that not many were too familiar with the midfielder at the time of the transfer.
Fast forward nine months and Kante is a Premier League winner and is now considered as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.
The 25-year-old played a crucial role in helping Leicester to the title and he is now set to star for the French national team in the upcoming European Championships.
As a result of his meteoric rise, it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a number of top clubs interested in securing the services of Kante this summer and it was reported that Arsenal are very keen on signing the midfielder.
Kante is believed to have a £20 million release clause on his contract at Leicester and claims were made by the Mirror that the Gunners were ready to facilitate the deal.
However, as a huge boost to the Foxes Kante does not seem to be in a rush to move to Arsenal and has revealed that he will be staying put at the King Power Stadium for the time being.
He told L’Equipe, “For now, I am happy at Leicester. I do not pay too much attention to everything that is said. For now, I am in Leicester and I focus on the Euros.”
There is no doubt the Gunners need quality additions in key areas, but with Champions League football coming to Leicester and a Premier League title to defend, why would the Frenchman move on?
