The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been out with an injury, but the 19-year-old demonstrated against Manchester City that it hasn’t impacted his goalscoring run.

Young Tottenham Hotspur striker Shayon Harrison continued to demonstrate that he is one to watch as he scored his fourth goal in four matches during the 2-1 loss to Manchester City Under-23s.
The Premier League 2 clash didn’t go the way of Ugo Ehiogu’s young Spurs side, but Harrison returned to injury, and possibly the thoughts of first team boss Mauricio Pochettino with another goal.
The young attacker actually started the match on the bench against City, one of the stronger teams at this level in recent seasons. But after Spurs saw striker Ryan Loft dismissed midway through the first half for a tackle on Rodney Kongolo.
Harrison came on with 30 minutes left and set up a tense finale with a penalty in the 81st minute.
The 19-year-old has already proved he can make an impact in senior football, having scored during the impressive 6-1 win over Inter Milan in Oslo during the summer, and he was very much involved in Pochettino’s plans throughout the entire pre-season schedule.
But Harrison’s goal against the City development side saw him net in his fifth successive game at development level, following goals in wins over Reading and Derby County, and losses to CSKA Moscow and Chelsea.
The youngster may have even made his full debut for Tottenham in the 5-0 win over Gillingham in the League Cup last month but for his injury. However, with the next round of the competition on October 25, Harrison may hope his pace and direct approach make him a tempting alternative for Pochettino to consider in what is sure to be an intriguing game when Spurs take on Liverpool.
If he keeps this form going until that fixture, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Harrison the latest to make his Spurs debut.
